Commercial Murals

      After Botticelli

The next series of murals was done in various hospitals and extended care facilities for Fraser Health and private care homes.

The administration of this long term care facility asked if I had any ideas on how to disguise the elevator doors.  Residents couldn't open the doors themselves, but would wait nearby until someone arrived and then would escape.  I suggested they paint the doors the same colour as the walls instead of dark, and then I painted a mural across the walls and both elevator doors.  It camoflaged the doors and worked perfectly.

This was to disguise the elevator button so confused geriatric patients wouldn't leave without permission.  It worked too well.  While I was still painting it, a visitor to the hospital tried to open the elevator doors by pushing the circles on the left hand bird house.
